Notes & Combos
Reached 1600 with very minimal grinding!
Very similar to my M1 list that I put out very soon after the new cards dropped but slightly more tailored to how the meta has formed!
Changes from M1 list:
Eagle Booster/2nd Lemnis -> Foolish Burial of Goods/Metal Foes Fusion
- Found myself bricking going first a little too often and wanted just a tiny bit more consistency
- I do love 2nd Lemnis and Eagle but those cards are much better after Radiant Typhoon Vision releases and we can throw away Quick Plays we don't need in the moment
- Utility is King...but being able to play the game at all is GOD
Hamp/Herald of the Abyss -> Gamma/Driver
- Lunalight is absolutely MIA, and way less popular than I expected
- Protecting Zero and stopping Droll on draw cards is going to win you way more games than respecting the occasional Luna (especially because you can beat them any way going first)
- Obviously 1 Gamma/1 Driver isn't ideal, but Called By is the only spell realistically chained to Zero which is a one of so Delta isn't great
- At worst you can just get rid of Driver for Super Poly or Droplet
Almarduke returned to Extra Deck
- Since Appo was banned, I didn't expect to need this when we already have the Predaplant for 3 darks
- However, in practice, I found times where they had several links on field of different attributes like splash mage or transcode talker, and want to be able to cut off their line (even if I have to use one of my own links as well)
- On their endboard I don't want to Super Poly the Maliss Links, I want the Allied Code + Transcode which requires Almarduke
Misc. other thoughts:
- Haven't had a ton of time to grind games but it has been veryyyyyy smooth. Most decks feel totally beatable going second (except Maliss)
- Going first I feel like even through critical handtraps, a decent can still either completely shutdown the opponent or make them end on a weak board and leave yourself with some follow up
- If you don't have follow up, sometimes using the Zero effect can lose you the game vs belle/ash/impulse/called by, so only use it when you REALLY need it or if you have follow up
- Cosmic has been awesome, no regrets
- You can play less than 3 Thrust since it can get bricky, but kinda really wanted it for draw phase fuwa/maxx c and extra copies can just be punted for super poly/droplet
- You can end with no cards in hand and super poly on field if you have a way to zero add or kagari add back during their turn
