You can use maxC plus trumpeteer to make Barkion. You can also charmer opponen'ts maxC to do it. You can use opponent's crackdown'ed monster for it or or your spoly'd monster like garura (to get a draw too).

Crackdown on dormouse/crypter(when they want to use it while shadow imprison/skill drain is up)/dedonator (and you can negate)/duo drive (it wont resolve without detaching and you can keep their material monsters from hitting grave.

Going second is very hard. They either have to brick, or you need to resolve maxC. Sometimes if your hand is strong enough, stopping duo drive with purge could be enough. If your hand is just bad then you might as well purge the first thing against Ryzeal and hope they dont have an extender, but this is also quite rare but it can happen. Purge white binder revive can often completely be a big hit to their board. If their start is terrible, you can risk purging banished mirror effect (like when your hand is also terrible) but this is often not worth it since they could still draw into extenders and in the previous situation having white binder stuck in banish zone is quite good.

I removed shifter and put in harpie since drawing into bricks is just too bad. harpie is always at least decent and having it in the starting hand is not the end of the world since this deck will always need multiple turns to win, and we dont have good ways to deal with backrow. (I should have tornado dragon actually but I dont have UR right now.

Slowing down ryzeal and maliss is just the first step, we still need to be able to stop their 1 card combo every turn, and that can only happen with floods (including bagooska) or looping drill beam. Sometimes we can end the game early when clockwork night.

Shadow imprisoning mirror destroys maliss, but not great against ryzeal, although it can still stop aggregator, which is what they need to deal with our other floods(statue/bagooska/skilldrain/tcobo) and even crackdown.

Ace spades actually dont really show up and is a bit too costly to make. 2nd ty-phon could be good. I'd probably replace exciton knight and ace spade with 2nd ty-phon and a tornado dragon.

There are cases where we can make baron (garura + trumpeteer) so that's also something to consider.
