Notes & Combos
its me, the player of many decks, master of V
I am here again representing goblin biker with the power of argostars, fiendsmith, and armored xyz
the biggest changes over the previous list include:
-
the dropping of the punk engine (the new phantom knight's cards have a better starter to brick ratio, and ROTA becomes a very flexible searcher allowing you to get generic special summon 1cc, or radiant typhoon, or adra for a lower to the ground combo)
-
the dropping of desirae and the broadbull pieces (allows for necroquip who makes more 6s to make crazy beast, the best protection in the deck, as well as room for downerd and zeus who came up VERYYY commonly going 2nd into elfnote, often winning the game easily from a simplified boardstate; this also corresponds to a drop in tract, since it isnt a 1cc anymore)
for beatstick purposes a beefed up lacrima often clears anything, but a beefed up dark knight lancer is capable of winning games in one punch due to the double damage from xyz armor fortress (which happens frequently)
because we have a GOOD normal spell for 1cc in ROTA, im playing thrust as well as some generic targets (illusion gate, though i never saw it once, and duster)
the endboard is primarily monster focused with the majority of backrow coming from argostars and set non-engine; this deck is a combo deck at heart so you will have to yield to mulcharmy or maxx c, but purulia and droll can be played into by making MXsaber for argostars combo followed by fiendsmith into caesar, which is quite impactful even for the 2 draws (1 with phantom knight's) you give them.
the biggest strength of this deck is the flexibility, as unlike the goblin biker radiant typhoon fiendsmith variants you will see before this one, we have a large amount of extension and various different kinds of plays for all sorts of situations, and that is evidenced by the winrate despite going 2nd more often than not.
the meta does not favor this deck, and what I mean by that is there aren't any big XYZ decks that goblin biker can take advantage of; with this being the era of synchro dominance you won't find many decks you can abuse detaching material from, but that only means as decks like that appear this deck WILL get stronger by proxy.
lastly, the biggest issue of this deck is bricking, which is how i end up losing some games going 1st, though playing 60 cards and minimizing some engines works to mitigate that problem (it is REALLY unlikely to not have a play)
