Notes & Combos
Before the new ishizu banlist, I climbed from gold 5 to diamond 2 with this deck minus the bystials. Without the bystials the deck feels more consistant going first but going second the bystials do so much for disruption that it's worth running them.
If you are familiar with how Pendulum works then this decklist is nothing special. I decided to cut the Vaylantz fieldspells/Curtain Raiser for the bystials since they are your bodies for Beyond the Pendulum if you need them, although less consistent going first.
Your Gameplan is to end with Apollousa or Avramax + trap + Vortex and/or Barone. If your hand is absolutely cracked then you end with that + Dweller + Timestar. Try to keep atleast 2 cards for scales in your hand for the clap back if they break your board.
If you set up scales and they Maxx C you then it depends how many monsters you can Pendulum summon in one time. 2 Monsters: Gamble between Bagooska/Dweller + Celestial scale (+trap if you are lucky) 4 Monsters: Avramax(IP linked) + trap (Not recommended since they + 4 but some decks just can't deal with it) 6 Monsters: Apollousa with 4 + Bagooska/Dweller or Omni-negate
-Exosisters: Your worse matchup in this meta will be going second against Exosisters. It becomes a battle of who will run out of resources first so you have to hope to start with Maxx C or TTTalent. Bait out their banishes and pray you have enough to play 2 scales and harmonizing/pend sorcerer. You usually win going first doing your normal combos.
-Floowandereeze: Going second if they set up both the omni negate and the big bird + trap + field, you would need to try and bait out the omninegate with purple poison and try to go into odd-eyes vortex. Going first you just negate the normal summon, hold your trap for the field spell.
-tear/branded: Both are very similar with their styles, try to bagooska + Avramax(IP linked) vs Branded, Dweller + Avramax(IP linked) vs Tearlaments. These games go for a long time so mind your time.
-Dragonlink/bystials: Borrelend is a big boy. Ignister, TTTalent or your trap are your only out to it. This is a hard matchup but not imposible.
-Sprights: They might be the trickiest board to break, depending on your hand you will have to get creative with your poison baiting. Once you brake their board, they can't recover if you set up your own.
