Notes & Combos
Traptrix lured me back to MD, but the allure of blinding second was just too great. Iphonz and zeroender's lists from this month seemed neat so I tried something similar for a while. The lasting appeal for me was running Evenly and Super Poly in a dedicated going second strategy which is something I hadn't really tried.
The main thing that abraded me was the Bystials + other handtraps felt a bit at odds with getting the most value out of Evenly and Super Poly. So now I'm running them in an 8-axis style deck and doubling down on additional board breakers like Lava Golem. Not sure if this approach is better, but I just feel more familiar with it. With only one rank 8, it's a bit too much of a stretch to submit this as an 8-axis deck, but it does mostly play like one.
Dimension Shifter I'm not sold on and was only put in since I was running into a bunch of Tear. I expect I'll be switching them to Triple Tactics (or possibly Reboot) at some point.
I've been waffling between Accel Dragon and Chaos Ruler. Ignoring Shifter, Ruler has 14 targets → 89% hit rate which is solid, but I'm not running any LIGHT monsters for Ruler to recur itself so I went with Stardust for more consistent level 10 Synchro access. I'm not running many Bystials, so neither one comes up all that often anyway.
Unsure if these special summon tuners + Lava Golem are better than Deep Sea Diva + Kaijus, but I'm happy with Golem currently.
Thanks to 勇者は深淵より来たり for beating me in a blind second mirror and reminding me of what style deck I prefer. 🤣
