Notes & Combos
Reached Master 5 on Friday, February 6th, 2026.
Travelled from D2 to D3 back to back a couple of times. The arrival of VSK9 made the climb more difficult, but the deck is still strong enough to go second and OTK-ed my opponents on turn two.
Before VSK9, Mitsurugi variants are the most difficult matchups. Lost many games due to silly mistakes and bad hands.
Maxx "C" going to one is quite impactful. I rarely got Maxx-ed during my climb and I become less worried about it. But now, VSK9 forces me to go to a different kind of struggle. I have to pay attention on my opponent's hands at all time and have a good guess on the cards on their hand.
There are no certain choke points against K9 in my opinion (I never played the TCG, hence I don't know the ins and outs of the deck). I replaced my second copy of Maxx "C" with another copy of Purulia, and looks like it really eased the burden a little. Because they summon a lot from the hand, Purulia can give me a lot of card advantage should they continue their plays.
Navigating against Ripper is quite easy considering I don't play many hand effects on turn two, but playing against their interruptions was very challenging. Hollie Sue steals, Forced Release into Werewolf and banish from hand, Jacks, Masquerade, Vallon, you name it. Use your Droplets very carefully.
I am still considering to modify my deck. I want to add more boardwipe because I think VSK9 does not have answers to it, provided that the VS field spell was already taken out first. Any suggestions are very welcome.
Replays
Profile ID: 404-164-441 I have added some replays from my Season 50 climb. I have one funny replay against a Maliss player, if you are interested.
