Notes & Combos
Intro
- Onomat Ryzeal has gained a pretty bad reputation for relying on floodgates such as Ptolemaeus turn skip, Protos, Harpie’s Feather Storm, and probably a few more I havent seen along the way. That said, the deck can be much more than that. At its core, the Onomat engine gives Ryzeal a lot of flexibility, allowing you to break established boards and still produce a strong turn 1 without depending entirely on floodgates.
Anti-Maxx"C"
-
I got the idea for this build by looking at the top Duelist Cup decks, specifically placements 3 and 4, where players were running Heavy Slump to counter Maxx “C” and the Mulcharmy cards. From there, I decided to add UDF, mainly because it provides extra protection for Alembertian. This lets you safely search Heavy Slump when needed, or Astraltopia for additional extensions and access to the counter trap.
-
UDF also protects Heavy Slump from Ash Blossom, while Unbreakable Xyz Barrier protects it from Purge and Red Reboot. On top of that, you can search the counter trap using Gagagaga Girl, which frees Alembertian to search Heavy Slump instead. Just make sure you have enough extenders to reach Alembertian consistently. If you manage to do that, only a double Red Reboot can realistically stop you, and with just two cards, UDF will usually win you the game on its own and most of the thime you'll have a Detonator and a cross too.
Extra Deck
- One of the biggest strengths of this deck is how flexible it is. You can still play the floodgate route if you want, or cut UDF entirely and include options like Tornado Dragon, which I admittedly missed sometimes. You can also play Dugares for the Lunalight matchup, Light Dragon for destruction protection, Granite to search Nibiru (which also triggers Twins when sent to the GY), Rafflesia for extra protection, Utopic Future ZEXAL if you’re into that, or even more Duo Drives. The Extra Deck options are extremely open and customizable.
Red Reboot
- Red Reboot and Photon Blast Dragon were MVPs every time they came up, especially Red Reboot. In Diamond, you usually face a healthy mix of meta and rogue decks, but this time Dracotail and Odion were everywhere, which made the climb much harder than usual. Red Reboot carried hard in those matchups and was easily one of the best cards in the deck, right next to Heavy Slump.

I have good replays showing Heavy Slump, going secong and best board. Also, I have Magistus Ryzeal replays that took me from silver to D4.
