Notes & Combos

By now I've finished that Ryzeal core I mentioned last time! And yeah, this deck really does feel like my fav deck Purrely if it didn't bleed cards trying to play; I'm glad I invested. (Also, I stopped calling him "Deadnamer" -- "Detty" is quicker.)

I honestly didn't mean to make it to M1 already, but figured it's for the better this time because @Ignister is on the horizon and we may be in for a very rough format where Maliss becomes even less stoppable than it already is going 1st -- and as of today we're not even sure if we're getting Eclipse Twins to compensate -- so it would be better to have no stakes while experimenting.

I'm out of characters; comment if I missed anything.

• THIS LIST IS BY NO MEANS OPTIMAL even by pre-Twins standards! Case in point: I didn't craft Bonfire, nor the 3rd Tachyon. The 2x Ascension + 2x Tachyon are from pulls (hilariously, one Ascension is a Royal from an anniversary promo), but definitely make the swap since they're way better into the opponent's Droll. Then, if you find yourself bricking, put any number of Ascension back in, swapping out some of the staples.
• There's discussion about its probabilities in the Discord server, but in my experience, Desires never backfired. Use it -- preferably when you have nothing else to do this turn, so that your important cards are out of your deck beforehand.
• Talents hand rip is more disgusting than ever and I hope it gets hit to 2 or 1 on the banlist ASAP.
• I don't like ending on Gooska... it feels more boring than playing the Detty game. But do what you have to.
• In practice, Laplacian, Lancer, Banshee, Exciton, and Typhon all felt meh, but are here "just in case". Consider swapping in Dugares the Timeless, Exosister Asophiel, or Light Dragon @Ignister based on preference.
  • I tried Zeus for a while, but with the 4-lock, he also felt pretty meh here.
  • But I really like Tornado. Paired with Detty you can start to contest stuff like set 4 pass which would otherwise be annoying.
  • I was doubtful of Starliege Blast before building this; turns out it actually should be coming up a lot (I was conceding too fast to see it).

Twins sounds like it makes this deck a lot less boring, but we'll find out hopefully sooner rather than later. In the meantime, I think I'll just keep doing my dailies and eagerly awaiting the next Festival.
