Notes & Combos
First time reaching Master 1.
Pretty standard go-2nd Gem-Knight list. Only reason I'm not running some boardbreakers like Heavy Storm and more copies of Lightning Storm is because I didn't want to craft them. But this build worked perfectly fine for me.
This was my decklist from Diamond 4 to Master 1. The only change I made at that rank was switching out Super Poly for Eclipse (and SuperPoly's targets for tech options), but I used SPoly from Plat 5 - Diamond 5
Only changes I would make in retrospect is possibly remove Droll for more boardbreakers or more copies of Talent/Thrust or maybe a couple Kaijus. It didn't feel great this format. SP and Azalea never came up, and I would've used Donner instead of Azalea if I had it. Ty-Phon saw play like once, and Light Dragon did a couple times against Lunalight. Because of KT's extra deck-banishing, I'd recommend running extra copies of Diamond Dispersion and maybe Master Diamond if you have the UR dust to spare.
Biggest issue this deck has is bricking on too much non-engine, which was the reason for a good number of my losses. Losing the coin toss and going 1st is also a rough spot to be in, but when I did win those duels it was usually when I ended on Lady Rose Diamond with Hollowcore + 2 GK names in GY. And Shifter/Fissure can feel like an automatic loss, though that isn't always the case
This deck has a fairly good match up against KT, though them deciding your top deck can be game-determinate. Eclipse cooks KT pretty hard if they can't negate it in my experience.
Sky Striker was generally beatable, and one of the few decks Droll cooked. Elfnote I usually had a good match up against, though like White Forest, it depended on if they were playing a horrendous pile or not. VSK9 was the biggest toss up in terms of win/loss ratio, but I struggle to not misplay against that deck. RT was a tough one though with all their backrow removal. Exo was usually an easy win, and Man/trap-heavy decks were like 50/50.
