INTRO

This climb ended up being way more relaxed than I expected, and honestly a bit weird too. I went in assuming Master would be flooded with Dracotail just like Diamond, but that didn’t really happen. I still ran into it a fair amount, but the ladder felt much more diverse overall. Maliss was everywhere as usual (that deck really never disappears), and I also faced a good mix of Mitsu Ryzeal, Orcust, Odion, plus the occasional Blue-Eyes and Azamina. Surprisingly, mirror matches were pretty rare.

What really stood out to me during this climb was how comfortable the deck feels in almost every scenario. It’s not a perfect deck by any means, but it’s very good at breaking boards and, more importantly, it always feels like you’re playing the game. Whether I was going second, getting hit by Maxx “C”, or staring at a strong setup, I rarely felt completely locked out. There was almost always a line, and that made each game genuinely enjoyable rather than stressful.

Overall, this was one of the most fun climbs I’ve had in a while. If you’re on the fence about trying the deck, I’d definitely recommend giving it a shot. And hopefully, Konami decides to address the floodgates instead of hitting the core of the deck itself.

The Anti–Maxx “C” Package

The package revolves around Heavy Slump, supported by UDF to protect Alembertian and ensure access to Slump or Astraltopia. UDF also covers Ash, while Unbreakable Xyz Barrier deals with Purge and Red Reboot, and if you start Ice and Dodododo Warrior you can do the same combo while being protected by cross. With consistent access to Alembertian, the setup is very hard to stop and UDF often wins games on its own.

Red Reboot

Red Reboot was one of the strongest cards this season, especially with Dracotail and Odion being so common. That said, it’s very meta-dependent. When Yummy releases, it’s worth considering other options like Dark Ruler No More. If Yummy becomes the top deck, Red Reboot will likely lose a lot of value.

Hand Traps

I added Gamma and Driver mainly to make sure my first play resolves or to stop Maxx “C”. Gamma came up often enough to justify itself, and neither card is dead in the deck. They can be used as cost, and with Onomatopickup they become Level 4s, which helps extend into Xyz plays. Nevertheless, is also valid to run Droll for Crossout or anyother handtrap you like.

EXTRA DECK OPTIONS

The Extra Deck is highly flexible and easy to tailor to the meta, whether you keep floodgates or swap them for utility options.

  • Tornado Dragon – utility backrow removal

  • Dugares – strong option against Lunalight

  • Light Dragon – extra destruction protection

  • Granite – searches Nibiru and enables Twins

  • Rafflesia – safety and insurance plays

  • Utopic Future ZEXAL – targeting Protection

  • Additional Duo Drives – consistency and grind power

  • Castel - For Harpie's Feather Storm

  • Tellarknight Ptolemaeus & Ooze Giant - Turn Skip
