Notes & Combos

Very fun deck to climb with this season! I preferred this over pure Sky Striker and pure Mitsurugi because it has a higher ceiling than pure Sky Striker going 1st and has multiple routes to get playing whereas pure Mitsurugi felt more consolidated / high-rolly and prone to getting your turn ended due to a handtrap.

I also liked that Sky Striker is a deck that is filled with cards that can serve as engine and non-engine, so half of this deck (or over half if you count Mitsu cards like that) is essentially non-engine, making it feel like a good pair up with an otherwise bricky Mitsu in my prior experience.

Going second, this deck can break some incredible boards (especially Ryzeal boards in my experience among other decks), and the Mitsurugi push is very helpful as not only a Raigeki, but also board setup to help you on the opponent's follow-up turn.

Ideally, I would have a setup of Murakumo board wipe with Great Purification, Ace 0 or access to Ace 0 through Raye on the opponent's turn, Lemnisgate (which doesn't care about filled monster zones), and a Widow Anchor (either used as a last-ditch backup or used when tributing Mitsurugi monsters off the field), in addition to anything else in hand.

Just a few additional notes: bridging from Sky Striker into Mitsu through King of the Feral Imps can be risky due to Ash Blossom / potential Ghost Belle, so it's good to feel out if the opponent has an Ash at least. If I fear my opponent might have that, I might go for a shorter board without bridging to avoid the risk of losing everything.

Shifter and Impulse seem somewhat conflicting, but with Shifter, although I wouldn't be able to get the secondary effects of Sky Striker spells, the opponent not being able to use the GY is huge while I could still play Mitsurugi combo perfectly fine and Raye -> Ace 0 -> Raye + Roze with a pop works as well. For Impulse, I can similarly play Mitsurugi combo perfectly fine, but for Sky Striker, I would have to switch to a more classic Sky Striker strategy centered around Kagari adding back material while Camellia (instead of Hayate) would dump what I need.

The deck is relatively good into Maxx C / Charmies, but naturally suffers to Droll.

Overall, a fun control alternative (that can still threaten lethal quickly) to other Mitsurugi piles like the upcoming Mitsu Yummy.
