Notes & Combos

Made it from Gold V to Master IV so far with this deck. It is purely for going second because that means winning 99% of the coin flips. The primary goal of the deck is to break the opponent's board by tributing their monsters and/or using them for fusion summons. Consequently, cards like Ash Blossom and Infinite Impermancence have no place in this deck. If you are going to break boards, you need to let your opponent build their board so you have something to break. Let your opponent cook so you can feast.

Typical plays include using Albaz to fusion the Kaiju or Nibiru token into Albion the Branded Dragon (or Titaniklad if opponent resolves Maxx "C"), then use Albion's effect to fusion summon Titaniklad or Mirrorjade. Alba-Lenatus can be a great way to clear a Dragon Link board. The rest of the Extra Deck choices are probably obvious.

This deck doesn't really need a searcher for Branded Fusion because Albaz acts as a Super Poly, so resolving his effect is important. Otherwise use him as Verte material and then go into Branded Fusion.

Magicians' Souls and Illusion of Chaos are Ash bait, but Souls is also a great free body that can mill Illusion out of the deck, effectively giving you a 39-card deck. It's draw effect is handy if you pull a spell you can't use. Souls is also great for going into Relinquished Anima to steal back a Kaiju or get rid of a Nibiru Token. Fenrir is an excellent free special summon that offers good protection. Cartesia with Bystials can easily synchro summon into Chaos Angel.

Kurikara Divincarnate is really the most important card in the deck. If you draw her, most of the other cards in hand can simply be used to trigger monster effects so you can clear a board. She's the best going-second card in the format, imo, and can easily take care of many problems (Kashtira, Labrynth, Swordsoul, Purrely, Dragon Link, etc.). Imperative to run her at 3, especially because you can tribute summon more than one copy is your opponent activates more monster effects after a first Divincarnate summon.

As a sidenote: I used one copy of Maxx "C" until after reaching Master, but it is too difficult to keep up with other decks' card advantage, so I brought it back up to three. Before that, I was using Fairy Tail - Snow. I also used Vampire Voivode up until mid-Diamond but he didn't see much use. Gizmek was an excellent replacement because the deck doesn't require much search and draw power, but follow-up and recovery can be difficult.
