Wakaushi is a broken card, being able to set a high scale from the deck while providing a free pend body is a godsend for Vaylantz.

Coral's pend effect that makes it scale 4 while you have a spell in the GY is mostly irrelevant since BtP will negate it until you pend summon.

Aleister has the potential to set up protection for your pend summon by going into Mechaba, or help push for lethal with Purgatrio (make sure to banish your opponent's Promethean Princess for extra salt).

Additionally, both the Invoked and ShS engines can be used to bait interaction so that your Vaylantz plays can go through.

Now for some pros and cons...

Cons: you will sometimes open either Driver, Coral, or 2 Field Spells (though opening Coral often isn't the end of the world).

Pros: you will activate Meltdown, your opponent will Ash, but you will already have Aleister in hand ;)

As a side note, a lot of people still insta-scoop at the mere sight of Shinonome (what normal summon Fossil Dyna does to an mf)
