Notes & Combos
Post-Dracotail release decklist!
So the downside of climbing to M1 before the new pack released was that the deck (while good), was not quite tailored to what the new meta would bring.
After a lot of testing with a BUNCH of different tech cards, this is the list I have settled on!
Card explanations (that differ from M1 list):
- Double Cyclone x3: This card trades amazingly into Dracotail's backrow, and also put's in work vs any other cards that can be dodged (drillbeam, apophis trap, desireae etc). It also makes the math on getting 3 spells for Engage much easier!
- 1x Cosmic Cyclone: I wanted slightly more backrow removal and maxed on double cyclone. This is probably replaceable but I kinda like it
- 2x Thrust: This could be bumped back up to 3. It's a bit fluid (tho 3 can be bricky)
- Jamming Waves: Replaced afterburner with this because I wanted more backrow hate and dodging the targeted monster removal is really easy for most decks at the moment
- Secretarion Dragon: Replaced Almarduke as the 4th Super Poly target to hit Dracotail. It's not that impactful but is usually summonable and does require them to put in at least a little effort to out it.
- Super poly x3: Was sincerely thinking of cutting this but it's too good into so many endboards that normally would be close to unbreakable
Cards that did not make the cut:
- Mistaken Accusation: Absolutely sick in a grind game (hit altharion), but I needed more cards that immediately effect the board and it can be dodged (as well as the card count restriction)
- Gravekeepers inscription: VERY strong but hard drawing it and having a way to dodge spell negation is not that feasible
- Blind 2nd in general: Vs Dracotail very easy to win going second, but so many decks like Maliss/Mitsu hybrids/Orcust Fiendsmith that are just crazy going second
- Red Reboot: Very good but needs to be paired with backrow removal and the half life points really matters in the grind game
- Ash/Belle: Belle was kind of underperforming, but Ash was really good. However I'd rather just play full spells than take a half measure with handtraps
- Retaliating C: Kind of an auto win vs some decks and dead vs others. Not exactly the kind of card I want to run personally
