Notes & Combos

Here is the update on my Supreme King Odd-Eyes (SKOE) FTK build.

DISCLAIMER - This deck is expensive to build, difficult to pilot and objectively weaker than meta decks. If you are unfamiliar with pendulum engines, are plat rank and below or are just starting out in Yu-Gi-Oh in general and are trying to build your first deck, BUILD THIS DECK AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Changelog from the previous build (Link) and its explanation:

  • Removed Ogre (Choice of Handtrap (HT) change due to shifting meta)
  • Increased Pendulum Evolution (Pend Evo) to 3 copies (By far the most impactful change; gives consistency to astrograph access, allowing for more combo lines into FTK and playing past HTs)

Unlike previous decklists, I will not be elaborating on the general combo lines and instead be focusing on alternative techs in the deck that are just as important to its overall function.

In no particular order of importance:

  • Know your search priorities and HT counters - Some searches are more important than others; learn to bait ash and identify toggle prompts to determine whether to commit to the FTK or settle for the Celestial Soul trap
  • Maximising lightwurm efficiency - Lightwurm is of paramount importance to maintaining card advantage and optimal combo efficiency. Learn how to utilise all 3 of its effects: SK card recovery when summoned, self-recovery from ED and level modulation from pend zone
  • Chain link blocking to protect ZARC's field wipe when summoning with the trap - ZARC's field wipe is mostly negated by monsters that chain directly to its activation; learn to chain link block with either Wings of Light or Lightwurm's pend effect to SS itself
  • Notable lightwurm level modulations - Into lvl 5 with persona or butler to make Durendal OR Baronne; into lvl 6 with seer makes Synchro ZARC
  • If you managed to bring out vortex dragon, try to scale arc pendulum dragon for additional protection and disruption on recovery (free spin)
  • If vortex/clear wing is in the GY, revolution can bring it back with its pend effect (provided they were properly summoned)
  • Celestial Soul's trap ruling checks for the 4 dragons in banishment during the point of activation, removing any of them afterwards DOES NOTHING
  • Ash + SKM = Baronne
  • TY-PHON can detach darkwurm as material to recycle it (if you survive the turn)
