Since not really playing Drytron anymore and thus also playing YGO in general much less, I have played MD in more of a maintenance mode instead of having a lot of passion. I kept postponing that one challenge I kept mentioning, too.

However, I must say that playing Branded in this event has been quite fun. YGO still is the best card game despite everything after all.

About the deck:

Many things in the list are somewhat standard, I might be playing a bit too many utility bricks like Branded King. However, I like my decks like that and most cards in the deck performed well (I was on a 7-game win streak at the end of the climb). I started off without Banishment and King, but added both - not regretting the decision at all.

It does feel a bit bad that opponents do not always know what to do against you, gifting you free wins, which is also why I recommend playing decks you are facing yourself at some point to really get a feel for them.

Super Poly was really good, although I feel like opponents could outplay it if they were really skilled. And I do not even really know the full Fiendsmith stuff, cause I refuse to read or play them too much. I "fear" that Super Poly should be cut for HTs like Fuwa/Droll if you were to play the best possible list at the highest levels, but we are not there in the qualifier. So, let's have fun without HTs.

I started with 1 Deployment but ended on 3, because the card does a lot of good things for the deck. It makes you so much more resilient vs HTs at the cost of efficiency. I enjoy resiliency, so I played it.

Fun fact: I have never checked a Branded combo spreadsheet - I learned about lines with Retribution and Dragonlord through an opponent on MD (I ended up cutting Lord, cause it is mid). I might be doing something super wrong in my lines and I am very surely missing out on some optimal plays.

Don't cut Sanctifire please. The card is amazing. Lenatus was very neat as well this format.

But the most important question remains:

Am I truly back?

Not yet, but I might be close :)
