Notes & Combos

My personal philosophy is to not play unneccessary engine cards so you'll notice that I don't play Winds, Freezing Chains and Spellbreaker, and I only play 1 Speaker. The Freezing Chains omission is the most straight-forward. It's only necessary for the Mirror Mage 1 card combo which requires Almiraj, and Almiraj is not available in this event. Speaker plays with Mirror Mage but not a negated Hexa/Revealer so I don't think it's a card that you really want to hard draw. Winds is kinda debatable because it actually plays with Mirror Mage and a negated Hexa/Revealer, but I don't play Spellbreaker so it isn't a combo piece for me, it would just be an extender that requires your NS to stick. Spellbreaker can definitely wins some games for you but I'd rather be able to play in a higher percentage of my games than ending on a stronger board. Ceiling vs consistency.

The biggest issue of this archetype is that the starters play very poorly into hand traps and removals. You do not have any credible follow-up going second if your NS gets hit with a removal. Every single hand trap works against Revealer. Hexa getting hand trap'd sucks. Anemone getting hand trap'd sucks. Ran Aegirine is really good for this deck because it reliably makes Lancea. I still maxed out on Mirror Mage which isn't a 1 card starter in this event because discarding it off Revealer/Aegirine is really strong.

Tip for the mirror match: If you can crash your Lancea into your opponent's Lancea, the Trishula that you summon will be CL1 because you're the turn player, causing your opponent's Trishula to miss timing. So you typically want to summon your Lancea in defense going first.
