Notes & Combos
Other then Dimensional Shifter and Marincess Coral Anemone, my standard build was completely legal for the Synchro Festival.
The Melffy cards are more than just a small engine leading to a bounce with Merry Melffys. They give me another route to Arionpos to get my Ghoti plays going, with Wally being a 1-card path to banishing the entire field with Deep Beyond.
If I already have access to Deep Beyond, then Pinny lets me Synchro Summon again after banishing the field. In that situation, Pinny will summon Accel Synchro Stardust Dragon, which then gets me to any Level 10 Synchro. Catty can search Hop Ear Squadron instead of Pinny, if that's a better play.
Between the 3 Ghoti Tuners, Melffy Pinny, and Hop Ear Squadron, I can Synchro Summon up to 5 times during the opponent's turn.
Ghoti has a good match-up against just about any deck in the Synchro Festival when going first. The deck plays well into Maxx "C" since I often only Special Summon once during turn 1 (and sometimes not at all).
Going second is certainly harder, which is why so many hand traps are necessary. Fortunately, Gamma is good on my turn as well, since Piri Reis Map and Beautunaful Princess both leave no monsters on my field when the opponent would Chain to them. And of course, Deep Beyond banishing the entire field is a great equalizer when the opponent does pull ahead.
