Notes & Combos

Red-Eyes Dragon Link deck here that I managed to get to Masters. I would've pushed for Masters 1, but Purrely is way too much atm. It's bad enough that I'm running Red-Eyes cards in a D-Link engine with all the potential bricks, but trying to out Noir going second without relying on board breakers is a nightmare.

Anyways, the choices I made for the cards in the deck are what I was comfortable with in terms of bricks and/or playing through interruptions. Most Red-Eyes decks with Dragon Link engines try to just gas going first, but in higher ranks that isn't very realistic. Expect to get hit with a Kaiju, Nibiru, etc. and play around it (if you can). This deck WILL brick at one point, there's just no way around it because you're playing a scuffed version of Dragon Link using Red-Eyes cards which is why I kept a good amount of extenders/starters to mitigate that.

The 3 cards you can change are TTT and the 2 Kaijus. I only added them for Purrely, otherwise you can add whatever cards you want, but I highly recommend not to go over 50 cards because you will brick even harder than usual. There are times where I can brick 3 games in a row, even when I go second and other times I have so much extenders/starters in my hand that I have to choose which combo lines I go into. Most of the time you are going to be freestyling combos in this deck climbing the ladder because of the interruptions.

Some of the cards that have insane synergy with the deck is Shadow's Light. That card has won me a multitude of games because of both it's effects, the only downside is you can't go into your battle phase. Another synergy that's pretty nice is Red-Eyes Soul with Recharger. I've won a good amount of games using Flare Metals as bait and once their life points hit around 2000, I use Soul to end the game on their turn. For this deck, I would prioritize negates (Savage/Slash) over Flare Metals if you have to choose a combo line, UNLESS you can have all at once. Just make sure Borrelend has a monster zone to be able to negate. Good luck to the Red-Eyes enjoyers out there!
