Notes & Combos
I think it is important to only play 1 Iblee in this format because you never want to normal summon it because it plays into bystials. You want to bait bystials with mathmechs and then use Inverted to get Iblee out at the end of the combo. You can also get into Accesscode by using a Link 3 + Iblee to protect it if you think they still have a crow or a bystial.
A new change I made this format was cutting mathmech equation. Some people may think this is an aggressive cut, but in my testing the lines that it enables do not come up enough to want to play it. It loses just as many games as it helps win by being a dead card in your opening hand.
Playing over 50 cards is important for multiple reasons.
- It makes the going second math significantly better. The deck plays 16 going second cards. This gives you a 44.49% chance of opening 2 of them. This is a little better probability than playing 11 in 40 (42.25%). This math is not possible when trying to play code talker at a lower card count. You can only fit in 9 at 40 and have to make very aggressive cuts to do this.
- It also allows you to play the full circular package (superfact + diameter) without worrying about the bricks.
- It makes it harder to draw Iblee, so you don't play into bystials
- Main disadvantage is Maxx C has a higher probability of resolving against you
Don't try to extend if you get hit with maxx c going first. The deck can not play through maxx c at all in this format (bystials can tribute Iblee).
I played Gamma because I wanted help against Spright and it can save you from a turn ending ash or maxx c every once in awhile. You need to be careful when using it going first because you can not use Transcode's revive effect. Make sure you can actually extend properly before you use it.
