Notes & Combos

Even in its current state, Maliss is a very hard matchup for most decks, and Vaylantz is no exception. And building the deck with countermeasures in mind isn't as easy as it is for other decks.

At first I tried 3x Lancea like pretty much everybody else but it turned out to be too clunky. Despite Diamond being full of Maliss players, Lancea was either never there to stop them, or they were able to play through it/negate it. Not to mention they were utterly useless against other decks. So I swapped them out for 3x Fuwalos, and those were much more effective overall.

I only really missed Nibiru and Droll as Crossout targets. There were a surprisingly high number of Drolls being used against me along the run, despite that card doing absolutely nothing to Maliss. So Silhouhatte Rabbit + Azurune are there for where I get turnskipped by Maxx C, Fuwalos, or Droll. It's not much of an endboard, but it's better than nothing, and ending on S:P pass is useless against Maliss.

This time around, I tried prioritizing Lars on my endboard over Varudras, and I've gotta say that Lars was enough pretty much every time. For the Master climb, I might swap both Varduras and 1 Grand Duke out for other utility options.
