Notes & Combos

Inspired by the gigachad scareclaw players here, especially wings_ygo, A8DO, and aShyeera.

Was using adventure scareclaw around gold to most of plat, but switched to a blind 2nd variant towards the rest of the climb. The climb was not that hard. Can't play much, but I think wr is ~60-70%.

IMPORTANT: Summon everything in defense position, you get extra effects when 3+ defense position monsters are on-field. The extra draw from reicheart can be clutch. Field spell also pops a card.

Gameplan is not that complicated. Basically, you summon the link-3 scareclaw tri-heart, and summon as many of the level 3 as you can. If you cannot summon all 3, depending on the situation choose which effect you want to gain (atk boost, piercing, multiple attacks). Running three tri-heart makes it easier to otk by summoning and searching the level 3s. Tri-heart is soft once per turn. Also, three copies of every main deck scareclaw monsters for consistency.

Board-breakers and other tech options can be adjusted depending on decks you're facing. This is the ratios I used in most of my diamond matches. Rationale:

• Backrow hate (harpie's feather duster, lightning storm, and hey trunade) because labrynth. Had its fair share of uses against other matchups as well.
• Honestly prefer dark hole over raigeki, but either or even both is fine. Superpoly was great and you also have a lot of free extra deck space.
• Kurikara and Gadarla to out boss monsters. Dogoran is a better kaiju (low def for piercing, high atk for scareclaw straddle), Gadarla is the free-to-play option.
• Bystials because tear. Also, extra bodies. Tri-heart is actually generic.
• Maxx C never resolved so I cut it down to two. Added an imperm because why not.
• Swords of concealing light was a card I never thought I'd play, but if it works, it works.

Other options that I either don't have, or used but removed due to the matchups:

• Ultimate slayer
• Change of heart
• Cosmic cyclone, twin twister, red reboot
• Triple tactics talent
• Called by the grave
• Ghost reaper: used by aShyeera and its quite interesting

Extra deck space is not a problem. Mine is composed of:

• Superpoly targets. will obviously change if ultimate slayer or ghost reaper is used instead.
• Two Light-heart (only using two field spells) and three tri-heart.
• Generic links. Only dharc and underworld goddess came up for me.
