Notes & Combos
After seeing people play it in the tcg I wanted to try rikka sunvalon on master duel to see what all the fuss is about. Deck's not too bad but with MD's high power level due its banlist and being a bo1 ladder the deck does struggle in a few match ups.
Mostly standard list but with two important thing I would note:
- Therions, very strong and very necessary at providing protection from spells/traps. The field spell itself is also good in and of itself if you can't find a way to konkon.
- Backrow removal, the deck lacks it in-engine and in this meta it is very needed. Usually suspects of floodgate stun and runick decks, but also Branded Beast from Bystial engines is a pain to play around and makes getting a loci to stick much harder. Lots of decks are just main decking superpoly as well which makes otk going 2nd that much harder. On reflection cosmic cyclone may have been a better option to take care of these problems so I would test that option if you want to try this deck
Granted I'm probably not playing optimally (I only learnt about the trick of attacking with dryas while sowing is in the grave to generate another body halfway through my climb) but it was not an easy climb to m5 and sometimes you will just brick on the field spells and high level monsters with no starter in hand.
