Notes & Combos

I was going to take a hiatus from Master Duel, but then I had the itch to play once I realized that the Snake-Eye spell does have a target relevant to blind second decks in Infernoid Decatron. There's decent synergy since most of the Infernoid names are happy to be pitched by Diabellstar. And for this GY mill-centric build, it's nice that both the spells have GY effects that meant I could reasonably feel okay with just running 1 copy of Snake-Eye even if it gets milled "early".

Having now just seen Tenshi's more Snake-Eyes flavored build this month, I'm much less glued to a Diabellstar package in comparison. With Desires at 1, I think strictly 2 targets for Reasoning/Monster Gate is correct. Diabellstar I'd only count as ~ .5 of a target since ideally she searches for Decatron anyway, and also has search spells to take her out of the mill pool, but it's still a bit of a downgrade in terms of potential mill counts overall.

For alternatives to those 5 card slots, I think I'd be about as happy with 3x Evenly Matched + One for One + whatever, probably another Kurikara or Cosmic Cyclone. But hey new toy. One aspect of the package I didn't expect to appreciate so much is having much easier access to Dharc since a lot decks usually have some sort of DARK monster I can scrounge for, so I'm probably keeping it in.

More than the Diabellstar stuff, probably the biggest oddity of my list is the distinct lack of Infernoid Tierra. Vanishment was an easy cut from the get-go, but then for a short period I ran into enough stun/Labrynth/etc where Imagination was a dead draw that I rage cut the whole package and I can't say I've missed it all that much. This is probably incorrect since Malong is such a nice supplement to N'tss now, but I appreciate the extra ED space and the ability to cut the level 9/10 names down.

On the subject of cutting ED monsters, Zealantis is extremely 4fun. It's hard to do the Snake-Eyes use case where Zealantis triggers Promethean Princess because most of the Infernoid names can't be special summoned back by Zealantis. Getting an extra GY send out of Decatron is pretty funny though. Mainly I've been summoning it over stolen opposing Link-4s, which has the nice side effect of getting around Mind Control's tributing protection for Monster Gate in addition to the usual battle phase chump blocking insurance. That's all pretty niche though. It's probably more correct to run a second Hiita instead so that when she forces the opponent's Promethean pop on summon, I still have the option to make her again. Unicorn/Goddess are also evergreen considerations.

Apollousa I'm mostly running for similar chump blocking reasons. If Snow is available against a cleared board, I usually opt for 2-material Apollousa through Selene since it's usually doable to get 8k damage on board even if she has to use her negates.
