Notes & Combos
Yoooo, how's it going duelists.
This was the first season I played Yubel, I see what the hype and "hate" is about; the deck is very powerfull and i'm worried what the friendsmith cards are going to do to this monster of a deck.
Initially I tried running lists close to 40, but this deck has a few too many engine bricks so i decided to up the list into the 50's, and I did that by the addition of handtraps and maxing out on every 1 card starter piece. The more interesting addition to this deck is Fantastical Dragon Phantazmay, which I wanted to try after watching the Yugioh Worlds and seeing the winner Ruben Penaranda run it at 3, and I gotta say I liked it alot. Phantazmay not only fixes your hand that can be susceptiable to bricks or 2 off's you don't need, it's a body on board that provides targetting protection for your plays, and it always felt great when it resolved. It made alot of sense in this deck, and I recommend people to try it out in their Yubel decks.
I think a change I would make is adding in a second Yama over either the Cross-Sheep or the Muckraker, the need for a second Yama came up more often than the other 2.
The deck played alot better for me at the higher deckcount, Maxx'c wasn't really an issue because i played all 8 of the outs to it, so it didn't feel like my chances were worse against it.
I guess that's about it, these were my thoughts after playing Yubel for about 2 weeks. Have a good one.
