Notes & Combos

Runick may be the most versatile engine at the moment, and pairing it with the explosive Fur Hire deck and the always consistent Spright package makes this deck, in my opinion, the best Runick variant currently available.

Deck aims to make a very toxic, nigh unbreakable board going first, where you have multiple negates and draw 6 cards and excavate 2 on your opponent's turn. Despite having such a high ceiling, its consistency might be this deck's most impressive aspect, thanks to having a one card starter in Rex with every other card being an extender, combined with the inherent draw power from the Runick engine.

I chose to run two Fenrirs over cards like Called By or Crossout because it's elite going first and second and this deck doesn't lose as hard to Maxx C as people may think. If you set up at least a Fountain with a couple of quick-plays in hand and possibly even a Carrot or Red, you have a good chance of surviving until Turn 3. Runick ratios are a bit lower than standard, but I'd much rather keep utility cards like Fenrir or Tactics than run more terrible spells like Golden Droplet and Smiting Storm.

Deck doesn't care about extra deck banishers like Unicorn or Diablosis because we run two of our most important monsters there. In fact, Kashtira might be the best matchup this deck has, at least until they get Arise-heart, because they lack hard negates, meaning its difficult to match this deck's firepower. Speaking of the extra deck though, the real MVP of this deck might be Mannequin Cat, who can bring back a hand trap to pop on our turn to draw 3 cards, or better yet, bring back a negated Maxx C to summon Rex or Beat to save a mediocre hand.
