Notes & Combos

Changed up the formula a bit on this build from last season. I traded handtraps for a bit more consistency going first being that I would sometimes see too many hand traps going first last season. So I cut them down and added more board breaking potential going second as well.

When going second sometimes you have a good chance if you can draw 2-3 hand traps, and draw into a starter/extender/board breaker. Otherwise it's probably just best to scoop and move on to the next game instead of watching your opponent play solitare for 10 minutes.

Added in Gamma Summon because it helps when you end up getting hit with a Max C or a Charmy. I often go Invocation > Caliga. Opponent will usually summon a monster to try and attack over it then you use Sword/Gamma Summon and go into Oceanus in the MAIN monster zone and they have no choice but to end their battle phase. It doesn't work all the time but it's worked A LOT when going first. Even after giving them a few draws to get into it. They usually don't have much to answer it with since most decks don't play Imperm right now.

Of course this is all before the new ban list hits tomorrow on the 5th and we get our new set. Wanted to grind it out now so I don't have to deal with the new shenanigans that I'm seeing people talk about getting Max C or Droll off of Dark Magic Curtain because I love how this deck plays and I'd be upset if I couldn't play the game as intended. Not to say that it's a bad deck because it's obviously not, just don't want it to feel more grindy than the game already is. This deck might be miserable to play after the set drops if we see those Curtain shenanigans.

For now my climb was rather easy, a lot of players will scoop on normal summon of Aleister when they don't have anything. If you guys have questions you can hit me in the comments or ask for my discord. Replays below.
