Notes & Combos

Another awesome M1 grind. Had alot of fun aswell as frustrating moments during the run with alot of missplays from my side that would've lead to victories as well as unbreakable hands with which I was able to break entire boards from my opponents. The meta seems very interesting in general.

Just some words to the build:

Standart as usual. I tried out alot of different variations during the climb but decided to stick with one that plays through droll the best since I got drolled just too many times. You could cut the Abysskraken equip spell for something else but I left it in just to max out the potencial endboard I was able to set up under droll.

The big question is: Is mermail still competitive? Despite the fact that the deck looses very badly to shifter and Maxx C in many chases, it is still a extremely powerful deck that still feels like Tier 1 if piloted perfectly. I've had the opportunity to break multiple branded/kewl-tune boards going second without even holding into one single handtrap in my opening hand while getting interrupted multiple times. It also requires a very good pilot of this deck to get the best out of it.

First penguin as another discarder will bring much more consistency to the deck since we get to search key combo pieces out but the deck doesn't lack discarders but more of good discards like squad and dragoons so it doesn't fix the main issue from the deck. When first penguin will finally arrive I will definitely cut out the Genex engine of the deck.
