Notes & Combos

Back again climbing the rank with Kashtira this month. Switch from Primite Kashtira to floodgate-heavy Kashtira to tailor the Maliss meta.

For the handtraps selection, I choose to only use turn skip handtraps such as Maxx C, Fuwa, Shifter, Lancea and Chaos Hunter.

Maliss is everywhere so 3 chaos hunter and 3 Lancea are necessary to skip their turn going second. Also Chaos Hunter is Lv7 so you can normal summon it with Kashtira Birth.

If you going first with Arise heart and Lancea in your hand against Maliss, use Arise heart first then throw Lancea, on the bright side they can’t CBTG your Lancea and they forced to skip their turn. On the other hand, If you going first with Arise heart and Chaos Hunter in your hand against Maliss, self-banish your Arise heart before you summon your Chaos Hunter, as Arise heart will still banish their card even with Chaos Hunter on the field.

Shifter remains a strong card against other decks, but be careful not to shotgun Shifter before you see what deck opponent is using.

As for floodgate S/T, I play 3 Soul drain as a generic floodgate against Maliss and other GY based deck (FS, Mermail, Crystron, Branded).

Remember to flip the Soul drain BEFORE the card have chance to activate, for example you chain your Soul drain when your opponent activate Gold Sarcophagus, not when their Maliss monster hit the banish zone as Soul drain prevent effect activation, not effect that already being activated.

TCBOO is deadly against lots of meta decks such as Maliss, Crystron, FS and Tenpai.

Skill Drain combined with your big attacker or other floodgate is just a free win.

As for Deck Lockdown, its just okay against Maliss but amazing against the other meta decks (FS, Crystron, Blue-Eyes). I might change this to 3 Solemn Strike in the future.

Another tip against Maliss, always Solemn Judgment their Maliss link, it will prevent them from cycling it.
