Blind Second Striker SO BACK!

After languishing in M5/M4 for several days I switched to a blind second Striker list just to try something different and my win rate shot through the roof! Went from bottom of M5 to M1 in a single day!

After the new support dropped I assumed I would be playing a go first build from henceforth. However currently there are things in the meta like Faimena and Habakiri which are very hard to stop with a normal full spell build. Typically the most successful Striker decks are running things like Soul Drain to stop this...but I simply didn't want to try and floodgate if I didn't have to.

After putting this list together I absolutely killed the ladder! This is all pre-yummy but Pure Yummy is very susceptible to board breakers so it shouldn't be an issue! Yummy Mitsu might be a problem but I am optimistic about it.

This upcoming meta will likely be a small capsule in time, as next month VSk9 and K9 in general will absolutely shake the game. I however am looking forward to the challenge!

Card List:

  • Slayer x3: I like this a little more than super poly when going blind 2nd specifically because it gives card advantage with Garura draws rather than discarding.
  • Backrow Wipes x4/ Red Reboot x2/ Droplet x2: Absolutely insane vs Dracotail, Odion, Orcust and various other decks. Really trivializes breaking specific boards
  • Raigeki x1: Not the best breaker but sometimes you just need to Thrust for a board clear lol
  • Striker Engine: The normal ratios mostly, but afterburner AND Jamming Waves. They aren't as strong as other board breakers but their searchability just provides awesome toolbox options for you
  • 3x Thrust: My favorite Yugioh card. Even it can be bricky in multiples, there is nothing like turning your entire spell card suite into a toolbox (even if you mostly just grab engage)
  • The Extra Deck is unremarkable, just the normal ratios for Slayer, but Ty-Phon I also threw in because sometimes your opponent Maxx C or Drolls you and you can break their board but need to just end on a big dude without Special Summoning too much

Overall very happy with how the season turned out after switching to blind second! I was a big doubter of it after the support, but it turns out most people know HOW to make a big end board but don't know how to USE it. The more variables in the game, the more chaos, and the more opportunities for your opponent to mess up and for you to let your decision making shine through.
