60c Crusadia World Legacy: "World Legacy's Finalit-i"

FYI, I am planning to retire from M1 climbing very soon!

I am moving on and up in life, and am running out of recreation time. I was planning on making this my final season, but (ironically) due to the holidays and the Duelist Cup, this run was extremely rushed and I was unable to attempt the following:

1. Test a going-2nd Mekk-Knight Crusadia version of World Legacy's Finalit-i
2. Test a 40c build that would probably be more optimized/streamlined given higher rate of drawing powerful non-engine

I would like to give the above a proper shot in Jan and then wrap things up.

I don't see the core build changing anymore from the S46 version with no further WL support on the horizon, so these uploads will just become a pointless exercise in updating the non-engine selection.

Fundamentally, the build is coherent and decently consistent. It's been 11 months with this 60c concept (since February), so we've seen how it is by now. It is RIDICULOUSLY weak compared to anything with modern engines, but we are very much working with a core that is half a decade old at this point!

• Gala-i has been a big boost, but does not fix the non-Orcust WL archetypes' weaknesses
• Mermaid's unban honestly did way more for this dream deck of mine as it allowed me to tie the different WL archetypes together
• Justiciar Ib's package is basically forced in with no real synergy, but it was an initial goal of mine regardless

It seems to me that interest in World Legacy (and especially Crusadia) is waning, as Orcust is understandably drawing all the attention. I'm not even sure more than 5 people read these posts nowadays LMAO. Thus, I feel like further M1 runs won't provide much value or prove anything new. Moreover, I'm already burnt out on MD (and especially having to upload to Youtube as it entails extra steps beyond just playing the game—recording, reviewing/editing, uploading).

Non-engine

-2 Nibirus. As this is the era of Dracotail, Nib is not worth running at 3x.

-3 Lanceas. Orcust representation has fallen off considerably. Maliss was somewhat infrequent lower down the ladder, but as usual, M2 was just SWARMING with them. Maybe I should have put the Lanceas back in just at M2.

+2 Imperm and +1 Veiler. Hitting Arthalion is nice, but this deck can't play into the backrow, so it seemed better to highroll on stopping NS Lukias directly. Well it's not really like I have better non-engine choices, so these single-target negates are better than nothing, I guess. Trading 1 for 1 feels incredibly bad nowadays, though.

+2 Red Reboot. What can I say? Plu was a prophet—even going 1st, you have to main Reboot because it just blows several gameplans up, not least Odion. I am glad to have come around on this. It's not just a blind 2nd card!

Note on the Duelist Cup

For the record, I achieved #7081 in this month's DC.

I don't intend to participate in future DCs, so I am officially retiring from Stage 2 grinding having managed to take Crusadia to top 10k in every single DC and WCQ since Aug 2022!!!

(I've never posted the top 10k lists here as MDM doesn't care about them; they're all on my Youtube, though they're mostly the same as the M1 list for that month anyway.)

Top 10k is pretty much just a participation medal, but it at least suggests a decent win-rate beyond mere time-investment grinding for M1.

Final thoughts

I'm not entirely sure what I will do in the end as I still enjoy YGO the game, but the M1 grind is way too much at this stage in my life, and I've been sick of uploading to Youtube for at least 1 year now. Maybe I can scale back and just climb to M5? Maybe it won't feel as time-consuming if I stop Youtube? I never wanted to be a content creator anyway, as I've stressed countless times that people should NOT subscribe. For now, the plan is to stop M1 climbing, but let's see...
