11 hours trapped in master 2 :despairge: but don't worry it is possible if you grind long enough. At least this was the first ever season where I actually won the first rank up game from m2-m1.

Anyway, Artmage:

I like this deck, but I'm a pain enjoyer. It's a midrange deck so you need to use every brain cell you can muster to have a chance to beat good players piloting good decks.

The combo is simple, quick, and effective. End board is a spell/trap pop, a full board droplets effect, an on-field omni negate, and a board nuke (or another omni if you run Succession by going into Ilia Silvia)

Field spell pitch anything for Graflare-> Graflare set assault -> assault get medius -> medius summon patron -> patron grab alteration -> alteration grab awakening -> pitch awakening grab litera -> litera add back awakening -> set awakening pass

This gives all the interactions with field spell access and a single spell/trap being the only requirement and can help play through nib. In the event you are nibbed and still have a spell/trap to discard you can pitch it for finmel, draw 1 and next turn you can summon another medius with awakening so you still get the on-field omni negate and the droplets.

Thoughts:

Overall the deck is decent. I think most players could hit m5 with it but to push to m1 you're gonna need to be lucky or determined.

Going 2nd is pretty tough in the format in general but we need spell/traps to discard so it feels extra bad going second without hand traps. That being said, I tried both a hand trap heavy build and the board breaker approach which I stuck with in the end. The board breaker route felt less bricky so that's probably what I would recommend playing.
