Notes & Combos

This list is heavily inspired by Azraeel’s innovative build, which masterfully blends consistency with aggressive hand trap pressure — a lifesaver when going second in today’s fast-paced meta. His approach struck a perfect chord with me: reliable starters, explosive openings, and just enough disruption to keep opponents on their toes.

I’ve tuned the deck slightly to fit my style, but the core philosophy remains: stay consistent, apply pressure, and adapt when needed. Running 3x Interrupted Kaiju Slumber and 2x Nibiru, the Primal Being has been a game-changer — especially in mirror matches and against Ryzeal, where board wipes and comeback tools are essential. I also run 2x TTT as a flexible option to push through defenses or stabilize when going second. It’s not always the cleanest path, but it opens up solid lines when you're fighting from behind.

That said, we’re not immune to the meta’s nastiest tools. Lancelot decks are everywhere, and getting hit by Maxx “C” or a chain of Fuwalos can feel devastating — sometimes even a good hand isn’t enough. And if Droll & Lock Bird drops early? That’s usually game. It’s part of the risk, but that’s also what makes the wins so rewarding.

One of my favorite flex strategies? When things go off-script — maybe I resolve an IMP or get stopped after Red Ransom — I love pivoting into the Gryphon Lock combo with A Bao A Qu. It’s unexpected, highly disruptive, and incredibly satisfying to lock down an opponent’s key cards. Plus, it’s just plain fun to pull off.

Below, I’ve included some ranked match replays from my YouTube channel. Check them out, see the deck in action, and let me know what you think! Big thanks to Azraeel for the inspiration — and thanks to you for watching. Hope you enjoy the deck as much as I do!
