Introduction:

Hiya!

One day before Season 52 ends, and I am fortunate enough to climb all the way with Radiant Typhoon Sky Striker! The run was very successful, with multiple 5 winstreaks and a 10+ winstreak to secure Master I! After a strong streak, how does Striker place in the meta?

Overview:

I will choose not to overview the decklist choices, but my personal experience with the decks I encountered along the way:

(NEW!) Kewl Tune: Despite this deck's ability to have nigh-perfect scanning on your tools (Hand, deck, draw, extra deck information, etc.), it is often that Sky Striker's tools and boardbreakers are enough to break their board. Linkage, Droplet, and MST can dodge targeted omni-negations, and Super Polymerization is highly effective against them with Theseus as the hate target. I recommend trying to save hand-traps like Ash and Belle for your turn, as it counters their plays which alleviates your boardbreaking. Book of Eclipse is a breaker that is also effective. When going first, Widow Anchor+ to steal their normal summon is effective, and removing their bodies with Zero, Lemnisgate, and Spoly help end their plays.

(UPDATED!) Yummy: I've faced a few Yummy, but it is worth mentioning as the deck was addressed in the banlist. Cupsy being at one means they are less consistent and more vulnerable to disruption. Super Polymerization can remove Herald+Yummy or Yummy+Yummy even through Spright Elf.

(UPDATED!) Dracotail: Similarly, Dracotail's consistency hits makes them more vulnerable to disruption. With the Branded support in the future, this will likely change, but Striker appreciates the fact they have less power Spells like Rahu to deal with.

(UPDATED!) K9 Vanquish Soul: This can still be a pretty tough matchup, but it is reassuring that their consistency hits makes them even more prone to bad, vulnerable hands that Striker can play through. MST especially can deal with Start which saves Zero's effect. Notice a pattern with consistency hits?

(NEW!) Radiant Typhoon Maliss: Maliss has recently paired up with RT as starters and extenders! It is difficult to face against this deck's endboard unless you have a particularly well-crafted hand to deal with all of their layers (had a 12-turn duel!).

Conclusion:

Overall, a very smooth climb! Again, I did not derank because of the big winstreaks and strong coin-flip luck. Sincerest gratitude to Wooly and the Dungeon, as I didn't have the motivation to climb without them!
