Notes & Combos

Don't ruin your K9 deck by adding inferior Vanquish Soul cards. Improve your K9 deck by adding superior Artmage cards instead.

Extra Deck:

• The Extra Deck is extremely tight because of Super Poly.
• Predaplant Triphyoverutum is the most replaceable Super Poly target but it comes up often vs Maliss.
• Saryuja Skull Dread can replace TY-PHON or Triphyoverutum to have a "bridge" from K9 to Artmage. I used Saryuja until M2 before replacing it with S:P. I sometimes want to make S:P using monsters summoned by Super Poly for an extra push when going second, especially with Garura to draw a card.
• The rest of the N.As.H Knight package (CXyz N.As.Ch. Knight, Umbral Horror Masquerade), Vallon and Saryuja can be included if you don't use Super Poly.

Tips:

• If you're under Mulcharmy Purulia or Maxx "C" and still have your Normal Summon, set Artmage Litera and change its battle position with Artmage Diactorus. This gets Litera on the field face-up while giving 1 less draw.
• Artmage Pact Awakening's GY effect can help OTK. Attack with one of your weaker Artmage monsters then use Pact to bounce that Artmage and destroy another monster, usually the opponent's strongest one. It's a 2-for-1.
• Artmage Graflare + Assault + Succession can out Skill Drain. Activate Assault to add Medius. Special summon Graflare, activate his effect to destroy Skill Drain, chain Succession to Fusion Summon Diactorus using Graflare and Medius. After that, you can use Medius' GY effect to shuffle back Diactorus to summon itself and Artmage Power Patron. Power Patron can summon Diactorus again.
• Summon Artmage Power Patron in attack position when going second to have the option of crashing it to search an Artmage Spell/Trap. Don't do this vs Dracotail Horn unless you're trying to bait it.
• Don't summon Diactorus to a zone Saryuja points to. Saryuja will boost Diactorus to 3100 ATK which allows TY-PHON to beat him. This is just a small thing that rarely comes up.
