Notes & Combos
Learned this deck pretty much from scratch and I thoroughly enjoyed learning and playing it. There's definitely a bit of a learning curve, but here are some of my takeaways to help you better understand this deck if you're unfamiliar with it:
- This deck's chokepoint is it's access to Chimera Fusion. So if you were playing against this deck, always Ash Swordknight and Imperm Gazelle. With that being said, if you open Chimera engine + FS engine, always start with FS to bait out handtraps.
- The standard combo is a way to get to Gazelle + a fiend OR Chimera Fusion. Coatl/Swordknight/Apprentice all get you to Gazelle. Gazelle can either search a fiend or Chimera Fusion, grab whichever one you don't have. Most builds run Diabellze as a endboard piece that you can access by adding it with Gazelle's GY effect and reviving it with Chimera's GY effect on your opponent's turn, but it's definitely a win-more card and you don't need to run it. You can check out my replay on how to do the standard line.
Less important notes on the ED:
- Most people run Magnum and Illusion Beast but I opted for a couple of other options. I think you need 2 Desirae's because you do come across situations where you need to summon one and have another to send off of Paradise pretty often. The reason why you run Paradise is because you only have 1 Engraver in this event, so you'll very often have the chance to send it off of Lacrima. It's a bigger brick than Diabellze because it's not a monster, but you access it way more often and it actually makes a difference.
- Agnumday never really mattered, but theoretically it's use cases are to get a Desirae removal on your turn and a Dragoon out.
- Sometimes you get all monster hands and they cut you off of Chimera Fusion, so theoretically Anaconda can help in situations like this. I've encountered this twice before putting Anaconda in. I would say these two are less important and are the true flex spots.
