**** CYBERSESLOP, **** THE ROACH MINIGAME, WE BALL
I'M NOT GONNA SUGARCOAT IT
WINDA DEATH BARRAGE
Nothing really has a good cyberseslop matchup (going second) and nothing really beats their consistency, advantage game, grind game, capacity to fit/dig for nonengine, and ceilng. I have no idea why the Master Duel team over in the OCG loves dicksucking ******* cringe *** dickfuck cyberseslop so hard that they choose to curb deckbuilding diversity and the reward that comes with making your own brews. Garbage art, garbage playstyle, garbage balancing.
I was not having any fun with the game. Until I made this.
The answer for me was to play something that can run both fast and slow depending on the game state with a wincon that is hard for the top decks to out. They might have Impermanence for the first Winda, but it's the second Winda that'll get them. Or the "third" one you revive with Incarnation that forces them to BP early.
There's no reason to play hand traps over gas when they're so low impact right now. This does mean that you're going to lose to handloop decks (Heraldic Beast, Merlantean), but it's a tradeoff you have to take. Against the best decks, every card should force interaction(s) until they've exhausted them. Other cards you can consider (and I tried tinkering with during the climb) included Protos, Evenly Matched, FB Goods, and ROTA.
Yes, I am aware that this is floodgate turbo. Oh well. I know saying "blame the bullshit meta" is a cliche at this point, but it genuinely feels like so. If you hate floodgates, have solace in the fact that despite this one, the deck IS genuinely very interactive.
Matchup tips for the boring *** popular decks:
Cyberseslop: Pretty free matchup if you set up schism going first, otherwise pray. Draw the right breakers, simplify the game state, control their speed with Winda. Additionally, with the amount they thin their deck turn 1, resolving grass means you get to mill, like, 30 cards.
Raizeol: remove the field spell and you're golden. The moment you cut off their grind game they flounder around like a dead fish. The popular garbage Bagooska endboard loses to droplet, or set Shaddoll name -> Super Poly for Shekhinaga. Despite how good Dednader is, it's astonishingly bad at dealing with flip effects in the damage step. It's a purely reactive card.
Bedgepai: Genuinely just a compare hands matchup. Either they draw the right breakers or they die. Black goat is extremely good in this matchup.
Replays
677-455-385 Latest 3 replays from the current Duelist Cup are all some variation of 60 card Shaddoll (the second replay isn't "meta", but they're on some WILD ****, what the ****?).
I tried a Horus engine at first (third replay) but ended up cutting it.
