Notes & Combos

This deck might be the cheapest deck on the platform to reach DL 20. Aside from the one-time special bundles (e.g. the ones that give a free Ash), I have only spent 1500 gems (3x structure deck), 60 SR CP (Mage and Transcode), and 120 UR CP (Access, an extra Ash, and 2x Maxx C). All other cards that are not part of the aforementioned I got for free (either Solo Mode rewards or random SR/UR from secret pack). Since the Link Festival, the only change I have made is adding a Gazelle after it got unlimited.

Given the frugality of the deck, I opted for going 2nd cards and boardbreakers since most are given for free or are cheap. (I did get lucky with getting TTT as a random UR from a secret pack.) If I was willing to invest more into the deck, I would replace the going second cards and boardbreakers with more handtraps and have more relevant Extra Deck monsters.

The strategy is the same like many other Salamangreat decks. Going first, set up board with as much disruptions and negates as possible. Otherwise, go for the OTK if you feel safe or need to risk it.

The Tri-Gate Wizard is just there because I do not own any other relevant Extra Deck monster to add. I did not use it once. The extra Heatleos honestly saved me during encounters with backrow-heavy decks or moments where I wanted to force my opponent to use a disruption.

I can only recommend this as a very efficient deck in terms of cost to make it to DL 20, but I recommend investing into a stronger version or another deck entirely if you do not want to stress as much as I had to reach DL 20.
