Notes & Combos

Altergeist was very probably a deck that was tied to Ghost Gal only as a post-thought, because it is not remotely plausible that a bunch of monsters resembling reproductive organs could be tied to her.

This "oopsie" ultimately reflected onto the deck itself, which, tied to a very specific, weakspot-happy, and ultimately unreliable "balanced" design (which, due to Konami, only ends in either lack of balance or lack of relevance, with no middle ground), typical of the TOSS format (not to mention requiring a huge mind just to bring the archetype into the light, let alone the future support cards), is a veritable monstrosity with little futureproofing, disconnected gameplay flow, and excessive self-punishing in card advantage, merely contained by the very broken cards that supposedly keep the ensemble laced together: Multifaker, Protocol, and Hexstia.

What followed after was an even more astoundingly stupid support wave of cards that suggest a more combo-oriented approach to Altergist flowcharts, but fail at providing the needed fuel to get there, and, when it comes to the actual extenders, read like a meme, particularly the lack of L1s along with Pookuery and Malwisp (and that's not mentioning Peritrator)

In such a disastrous situation, the field advantage needed to even get the deck work in the first place (which, worth reminding, requires sending HEXSTIA, A L-2, to the GY to even start), is ultimately left to staples just to slow down the opponent to a crawl (by disabling interaction, obviously, because what is midrange/control if not stun lite, after all?), and abusing the lack of OPT on Hexstia's negation (and then they say): cue Magicians' Souls and Illusion Of Chaos just to compensate.

How did I get the winstreak, again? Ah yes, luck and abusing bad mechanics. Of course, it's that. Since when was Yu-Gi-Oh about letting the opponent play (woe betide Joshua Schmidt stating otherwise)

The list is a modified (read: significantly more toxic) version of LLewliet's one. If you thought I would not maximize the suffering brought by this little creature, you should have never trusted me in the first place. Oh well, too late...

Sometimes you can't help but be amazed at how well advertised and hyped such a fraud as the one of TOSS format, at the time of writing this, really is...

And someone please get Purrely out of my face.

Replays

I left two replays at 706-815-611. They show the meaning of overwhelming oppression, loathin, and tyrantry, in gameplay form.

Make them suffice.
