Notes & Combos

This is a Highlander Tearlaments build, meaning that every card is assumed to be at least limited.

Why? I had the idea to test out a Highlander deck last month (when Havnis was still limited) and Tear is one of the best decks to do it. If Merrli and Perlereino (please Konami!) were limited as well, the deck genuinely would be good.

In this state, I tried it out in ranked, but after struggling to reach Master for a while, I got impatient and wanted to try out the 3 Havnis, so I got there with an actual optimized version.

In the spirit of Dice Rally, you don't want to play this deck every time. Specifically, as is easy to notice, you want an empty board. Kashtira, Charmies, Sanct and Imperm as well as Gamma just to emphasise, don't queue this deck if you roll a monster card. Or do if you want to preserve a winstreak with it and just draw a lucky hand!

Besides the whole Highlander gimmick, the deck plays very straightforward. It is basically an old Kashtira Fiendsmith list, using worse cards to replace better ones. It basically has three Reino, just worse mills and without the synergy, in Supreme Sea Mare and Rota, a second Engraver in Sanct, just that it doesn't provide a Light Fiend and is a bad mill, additional consistency in Burial Goods and Grief.

Endboard remains incredible, Rulkallos, Desirae and Cryme, another trap or Baronne if you are lucky, plus one or two interruptions from the grave. Downsides obviously are consistency and the variety in hand quality. You can draw all your one-offs and play through four handtraps, or you draw all your one-offs and pass immediately.

You run the typical one-off mill targets, Trivikarma, Goat, the Shufflers, Snow, as well as Destrudo, since they for some reason left Baronne legal. Exciton Knight can be useful going second if your opponent doesn't anticipate it and can go into Fiendsmith with Scheiren + any Level 4. The rest is engine, handtraps and redundancy.

You can try out differnet non-engine, I chose my favourite ones and mabye a larger Kashtira package to end on Ariseheart if your starter gets handtrapped. In the same vein, if you don't mind running floodgates, you should absolutely include Shaddoll's and Winda in this as another sacky wincon.

If you want a more fun, but definitely worse version, to play in a lower power format, like actual Highlander, I would recommend Orbital Hydralander. The card synergises with Tear, is really fun to play with, but sadly too bricky for a "competitive" list.

Replays

Here a couple of replays. They unfortunately aren't from the Dice Rally itself and rather from ranked matches, since I haven't got fun games from it yet.

So I chose to instead show some more or less interactive games as well as what the deck can do under ideal conditions
