Notes & Combos

This list is mostly taken from UID61319584's post at bbs[dot]nga[dot]cn/read.php?tid=35518444&page=4

I don't understand their reasoning on some of the ratios, so I won't pretend to. It's worked reasonably well for me so far, so no complaints here. Of note I really like the the Nemeses package beyond just Corridor as an alternate ThunDra Colossus enabler; Protos is a BS floodgate searchable by Flag and you can know what the opponent is playing even going first thanks to mills. The deck can field any of the usual 6 attributes for Protos to lock out, but Wind (Baronne) and Water (Dweller) might be a stretch for consistent access.

The one maindeck change I've made so far is Dragondark 3->2 and Diviner 2->3 since I prefer slightly more consistent access to a normal summon than a slightly more consistent ThunDra package.

In the Extra Deck, I dropped Underworld Goddess since I've yet to run into a towers issue, and added Abyss Dweller since it's potentially an FTK in the mirror/other Ishizu variants.

For those new to this style of deck the bread and butter starting combo for this deck uses a P.U.N.K. engine to mill 8~9:

  • (Ogre Dance/Emergency Teleport) -> summon Ze Amin
  • Ze Amin effect -> search next combo piece, either:
    • Foxy Tune to pitch itself and another card to special summon Deer Note
    • one of Deer Note + a level 8 P.U.N.K. to special summon Deer Note using its in-hand effect while pitching the level 8.
  • Synchro summon the P.U.N.K.s into Chaos Ruler, Ruler mill 4 + add 1 to hand CL1, Deer Note special summon a level 8 P.U.N.K. CL2 to chain-block Ruler from potentially getting negated.
  • XYZ the two level 8s into Zombie Vampire for an additional 4 mills on both sides + special summon, which hopefully gives you an idea of what the opponent is playing if going first. Be sure to detach Chaos Ruler so it can summon itself back as additional material.
  • Hopefully mill Kelbek/Agido in the above process for even more mills.

As a backup plan with no P.U.N.K.s available, Diviner dump Agido/Kelbek is a decent alternative normal summon.

The Necrofaces are a bit troll but I like them. Turn 1 deckout isn't a pipe dream with recycling from the Nemeses or Chaos Creator or if the opponent Maxx C's. The main benefit for me has actually been versus other mill strategies, mainly Runick Stun. Resetting the banish pile on summon is a huge swing in mill tempo.
