Notes & Combos

Unfortunately I had to end the current season at Master Tier 2 because I switched too late to Purrely but from what I've experienced during this season's rankup I think that the combination of Purrely + a lot board breakers would have enabled the most efficient way to rank up.

The current season was very strange. I had almost no duels where I won the coin flip and there were basically always just two kind of duels:

1. Going second against a combo deck that has Called By The Grave and Crossout Designator in the opening hand which made all the handtraps useless.
2. Going second against a Stun deck which was another reason why handtraps were not good.

After I invested a lot of time in trying to make Yubel work in going second, testing out different Yubel builds and a wall of going second duels I had to accept that with Yubel it’s impossible to recover from a lost coin flip against full combo or Stun boards and moved to Purrely with a lot of going second cards.

As soon as I switched to Purrely I ranked up from Master Tier 4 to Master Tier 2 with only one loss against a going first Naturia Beast.

Besides all the Purrely cards themselves Evenly Matched, Harpie's Feather Duster, Heavy Storm and Super Starslayer TY-PHON were the MVPs.

The handtraps did nothing because they got negated by Called By The Grave or Crossout Designator in almost every single duel.

Since going first was so rare the theory of drawing into handtraps with Purrely Sleepy Memory never worked in the actual duels.

If I decide to play Purrely next season I might replace all the handtraps with cards like Forbidden Droplet, Dark Ruler No More, Kaijus and decide to go second every single time.
