Notes & Combos

Rank 1 Rating Duels: 1676.47 rating

I reached #1 on the ladder by rating with Magistus Fairy Tail. It looks like a few people will also be playing Fairy Tail at the Niji Yu-Gi-Oh Festival, so I figured I’d share the build while the deck is currently in the spotlight.

The deck has a lot of ways to extend its plays, and one of the things I liked was that, when I was able to resolve Mulcharmy Fuwalos, I could sometimes even break through decks like Kewl Tune. I was also pleasantly surprised by how resilient the deck is to Droll & Lock Bird and Mulcharmy Fuwalos.

Even after getting hit by Droll, there were lines where I could use Wiccat to set up Teller, or go from Weaver into Snow, then use Xyz Rilliona to make Crowley and eventually bring out Link 2 Endymion. Those lines were also quite strong.

Although Regulus and Verre are powerful, neither is a true 1-card starter, so I reduced their counts and added Witchcrafter Creation and 3 Spell Power Masteries instead.

Individual card choices

Spenta was extremely easy to use, and I actually felt it was powerful enough that running 3 copies would be perfectly reasonable. Searching Zoroa lets you still summon Witchcat even after being hit by Droll, so I also found it particularly strong in terms of its resistance to Droll & Lock Bird.

Regulus allows you to perform an additional Special Summon of Empire of Endymion, which made it extremely powerful when going second.

Creation and Genni the Maid of Endymion are technically 1-card starters. By recruiting the normal Jenny, you can create enough room to send another card with Verre Magic - Lacrima of Light, and it can also let you play through an interruption on Wiccat. I’m running 1 copy of each as search targets for Spell Power Mastery and Verre, Magistus Maid, respectively.

I included Dugares so that, when Regulus or Verre, Magistus Maid gets interrupted, I can Special Summon Fuwalos and potentially still create a playable line. I also bring out Dugares when my combo gets unusually strong, using the extra draw as an additional payoff.

I think Dugares is basically a flex slot.

I’ve also uploaded some replays where I either pulled off the full going-first combo successfully or managed to break through the opponent’s board. Check them out if you’re interested.
