Notes & Combos

I present to you once again Centur-Ion Lightsworn. It's a slightly different version from the deck I've climbed to Master I almost a year ago, now with the new Centur-Ion support cards. Of course it's not the best Centur-Ion version, it can feel a bit bricky sometimes, also the deck isn't as powerful without Zombie Vampire and the Horus (or Millennium) engines, since those add a lot of consistency and an extra push. However, under the right circumstances, the deck can still pop off and be a lot of fun to play. With this list I was able to reach DLv. MAX within a couple days of playing.

I'm sure that by now you are already somewhat familiar with the Centur-Ion cards and the package I'm using is fairly standard, so I'll jump to the more unique half of the deck. The idea behind the Lightsworns is that Dragonling is a crazy card and if you special summon it you can either:

  • Set up Centur-Ion combo (by going through Minerva and then making Auxila).
  • Use it after resolving the Centur-Ion combo to raise the ceiling of the Centur-Ion endboard.
  • Use it as an extra push going 2nd or after getting handtrapped. Nobody will see it coming!

However, Dragonling has a condition to special summon itself, where you must have a Lightsworn in GY. You can get there with the discard from Stand-Up or Charge of the Light Brigade, but it's harder than using Zombie Vampire like you normally could. Of course you could special summon it in other ways, such as Weiss effect when sent to GY or by using Dis Pater, but that's easier said than done. Still, when you get to resolve it, you'll feel unstoppable.

The rest of the deck is just a Bystial package, giving you access to the powerful Lvl 10 Synchro pool and providing extra disruption/extension, plus a little Amritara + Reframing package that I was experimenting with, which is a nice option for going 1st, but it doesn't feel 100% necessary and adds another brick going 2nd, so it could be cut.

If the deck seems light on non-engine, it's because it is. I am mostly trying to push through disruption with just engine, but that's not always possible as you know. Also, no Maxx C! Might seem weird, but I haven't been able to resolve it much going 2nd and I don't really need it going 1st, so I cut it.

Hope you enjoy the deck! Happy dueling!
