Notes & Combos
Kept the Main Deck pretty standard for Centur-Ion. At the start, I was running it with P.U.N.K. instead of Bystials, and it was really fun and strong, since it allows for six extra starters that don’t use the Normal Summon. I was planning to stick with it, but the P.U.N.K. + Centur-Ion build can be rough going into Maxx “C” and Mulcharmy Fuwalos, which I started running into every game, so I switched back to old reliable.
The Extra Deck is a bit more fun.
I wanted to mess around with the new Crystal Clear Wing Over Synchro Dragon because Centur-Ion has a lot of free Extra Deck room in this event. I also had the new Clear Wing Synchro Dragon so it just made sense.
The cool thing about Crystal Clear Wing as part of an end board is that it makes it harder to board break, since it floats into Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, which potentially has two negates. I still have trauma from my Blazars getting Lava Golemed or hit by other non-responsive nonsense, so floating potential is promising, even though it didn’t end up coming up that much because people just scooped. It’s also situationally useful that Crystal Clear Wing doesn’t go away after negating like Blazar does. I actually won a few games by going into Crystal Clear Wing instead of Blazar.
So after playing it, it’s an alright option if you have the room. I’d always recommend running at least one Blazar, but Crystal Clear Wing could work as a second Level 12 omni-negate, especially if you’ve got a good Clear Wing monster to float into.
