Notes & Combos
probably going to end off rated season here. ogdo mitsu from ~1730 to ~1790. up and down road; the decks that brought me up to 1730 were solfa yummy, dtail (down too) and orcust mitsu.
push overall fun. lot of sacky things in format. decklist isn't particularly thought out by any means
ivan told me to play mamba but honestly this card didn't come up. it's probably good though
consider sponsoring me a copy of spright sprind: 39215ed7
usually i don't leave decknotes, but i pushed a good amount of ranked this season so i'd like to talk about my thoughts on some of the more prevalent decks in the format:
mitsu/ryz: very strong deck, don't think there's much to say. overall favourite iteration of mitsu ryzeal though do wish sword was at least at 2. mitsu probably grinds the best out of every deck this format.
dtail: actually better than expected. thought it got dogged on by vanquish, but there's sufficient counterplay if you don't get sacked. imo should run 5rainbow, great card and stupid too. imperm felt good here too
pure/solfa yummy: top 2/3 deck minimum imo, large nonengine space is valuable and the endboard while "low" to the ground should win you the game in most gamestates & combos through everything
herald of orange light is nice not only as a handtrap but acts as essentially 3 extra copies of cbtg
vanquishk9: feels like a sacky deck with a lot of stuff behind it. most times you want to handtrap them immedieately and just accept times they open the nuts. deck doesn't go second amazingly well either unlike other prominent decks in the metagame (draco, mitsu, yummy) but does a lot of very stupid things (rup into hound, shifter sucks)
surprisingly, this is the deck that i see run nib the most, which makes sense in hindsight. i think i would consider this the best deck in the format, but it's really close
man: please kill this deck, really just a pain. designed to not let you play. overall good this format though, going first you set 4 solemns and going second you sack weaker hands with the turnskip handtrap or handtraps so theory seems good.
mitsu yummy: a very powerful deck and one i initially campaigned as the best deck. ideally, handtrap to discourage full extension then smash through half board going 2nd but easier to just ht some of these decks to death and hope they open a weaker hand imo
char limit. overall, i think judeu's tierlist is probably a good representation of the format. thanks to all in mdm who dealt with my rating rambling.
