Poplar is the way to go; it's link material for i:p, it can be sent from the spell zone for magician's soul, and it enables using original sinful's broken graveyard effect. A lot more people call 7 and 8 now so having some level 1s can help reasoning resolve with a special summon. I don't normally associate meta uses with being trash, but the yummy opponents I've had in rated are actually braindead. I advize these players to try a deck that requires some thinking, instead of just getting boosted and fumbling every game that goes to turn 3.
