Notes & Combos

I played pretty late in the festival so I might have a different experience from those who played early. From my experience, a lot of players want to go second with all their Insect or Lyrilusc OTK decks.

So because of that, my playstyle with this one is going second. It's not an OTK deck as I don't know how to OTK properly but if you play through your opponent's interactions, you should be good. I've never really faced anyone with an OP first turn endboard like Mellfys or Scareclaws so I didn't really have a problem going second.

Evenly is banned for this event so you need to use other board breaker cards like Duster, Lightning Storm, or Raigeki, since you're mostly going second with this decklist. I also replaced Imperm with Droplets as Droplets can easily deal with Assembled Nightingale since they don't target.

Wing Requital is a decent Draw 2 and if you do happen to go first and are about to get wrecked by that stupid Assembled Bird, Waboku can save your life. Because for this event, I lost more to battle damage than negates, card destruction or removal effects, or any other ways of interactions. So yeah, midway through the event, I finally added Waboku to my decklist and it certainly made a difference, at least for me.

I didn't play any of the Raidraptor Counter Traps, I don't really know why (not really the wisest choice but I'm dumb). You can replace the Icarus Attack traps for the Raidraptor Counter Traps to interfere with your opponent's board since they're searchable with Mimicry Lanius.

As for the Extra Deck, I don't have the Simorgh Sovereignty but I improvised with what I had. Ice Beast Zerofyne is incredibly good as it negates the effects of as many face-up cards your opponent controls. This card is why I'm not scared of Reptilianne Melusine anymore, if I happen to not draw any of my droplets and if I play my cards right.
