Notes & Combos

GMX is easily one of the most fun decks you could play. No spreadsheets, only gamba.

Deck choices:

• No Kaitoptera package: don't get me wrong, it's very strong but I think GMX turn 1 is strong enough without it, it's worse into Maxx C/Fuwa as well so I chose to play cards that are more versatile going 1st/2nd.

• GMX names: 2x Selandea, 2x Kimridge, 2x Daneen, 1x SS are mandatory imo. Selande is weird, it's a very good card but you can't rely on it too much, your turn ends if it gets negated as your only play. People don't like Noma since she's very situational but she has more applications than you'd think (manipulating the opp's top deck to give them a dead card, making sure Final Experiment resolves, Velox 2 pops, fuse in opponent's turn if you get Fuwa/Maxx C'd...)

• GMX spells/traps: I like the Lab but since I don't play the Kaitoptera package I think it's not very worth it. You can play more than 1x Applied Experiment but since I play 2x Kimridges, 1x is enough imo. I'd invest in more than 1 copy of Report tho, considering even playing 3x. I know it's cope trying to make the deck less bad into Fuwa but I've won games thanks to this approach. 1x Final Experiment is mandatory in pure GMX imo since it's not just a monster negate, it's follow-up too, and it's great in grind games as you don't need a GMX on field to use its effect every turn. Dark Hole if you have COMPREX or manipulate the top deck for Velox into Noma or Kimridge.

• Other techs: Docus is how you make Lars and very consistent in doing so (milling it, Oviraptor, Fossil Dig). Also you can tribute Selande to SS Daneen if you ever need to. 2x TTT especially to help you make choices in making a half-board if you can't full combo. 2x F&V because it's a solid card going 1st/2nd.

• Extra Deck: You can play Sunlight Wolf to recover your Ash, Puzzlomino to help you make Lars or Dolkka, Goddess for towers, etc. Lots of options. COMPREX is cuttable since it rarely appears but it's very cool when it does.
