Mimighoul MASTER!

What can I say? This isn't exactly the deck I planned on reaching Master with this season, I was just playing it for fun. The list is not even optimal, as I don't have the third copy of Mimighoul Maker (and didn't want to spend more URs), so I replaced it with Mimighoul Charm (it is funny).

However, this deck keeps blowing my expectations out of the water - against all odds, between the slow-ish nature of the deck, Dominus Impulse shuting down most of our plays, and the terrible coin toss luck (went first 16 out of 42 games, ~38%), I was still able to get a 71% win ratio by winning ALL 16 games I went first. With this, I speedran through Diamond and got into Master, making it the fastest climb into Master with a Rogue deck I've ever had.

If you're not familiar with Mimighoul, is a gimmicky control strategy that aims to gift your opponent flip monsters with negative effects, and then forcing them to be flipped face-up. Dragon blows up their board, Archfiend makes them discard 1 and you draw 1, etc. You then combine these effects with cards such as:

  • Dungeon: consistency card that also locks the opponent out of the normal summon while they control a face-down monster.
  • Maker: weird consistency card since it involves randomness, but it is very useful and also has a great GY effect to flip up the Mimighouls you give to your opponent when they special summon something.
  • Room: great trap card, being a book of moon that also summons a Mimighoul from deck to either field. It is also good when combined with Dungeon (the monster summoned face-down cannot be flipped on the same turn, so the opponent is locked out of their normal summon).
  • Throne: Summons Master from the deck, and then provides a non-targeting bounce. Master itself can also flip up the Mimighouls during the opponent's Main Phase.

It's very funny that Dragon outs some tough cards such as the Exodia Incarnate, Chaos Angel, Links made with I:P, etc. since it counts as their effect.

The Kashtira package is small but useful, especially since the Mimighoul effects trigger Unicorn. Something similar happens with the Triple Tactics cards, with the Mimighouls making them live. Some people prefer a Fiendsmith package, but I like this variant.

In the extra deck, I would replace Linkuriboh with Anima if you have it, it could be more useful situationally. Fucho could also be useful for Zeus plays sometimes.
